The Premier League this season is becoming too intense as the teams are crushing each other so badly that the points table looks like it’s anyone’s game. Let’s talk about the game now.

Tottenham was attacking relentlessly for a goal but no luck for them in the first half. But against the run of play at the 32nd minute Morgan Rogers brought the valuable lead for Aston Villa.

It’s from the corner after Onana’s effort onto the post had been turned behind. The cross is swung in from the right corner this time by Digne and isn’t cleared at the first time of asking. Porro misses the clearance, and Bentancur heads it at his own goalkeeper, who saves, but Rogers is there to turn home the rebound.

Rogers’ goal makes the difference as Aston Villa lead 1-0 against Tottenham Hotspur at the break. The hosts looked more dangerous throughout the first half but failed to trouble Martinez in goal with their chances. Instead, Villa hit the post through Onana before Rogers broke the deadlock from a corner in the 31st minute.

Despite 15 shots being taken in the first 45 minutes, only one has been on target and that has led to a goal.

Son cuts in off the left flank to deliver a peach of a ball in front of the goal to the back post. Johnson and Solanke are both running onto it, but it’s Johnson who gets there first to tap home into the net. In the 49th minute Tottenham regained position as they are level now.

Solanke Goal

The game took a turn in the 75th minute. Dominic Solanke what a player, what a finish! Solanke makes a run in behind the Villa defence, Kulusevski spots it and threads a ball through under pressure. Solanke turns with acres of space and clips his shot over Martinez and into the far corner.

In the 79th minute Solanke scored again from Richarlison’s pass. A beautiful left footed finish confirmed 3 points for them.

In the 95th minute, Maddison steps up to the ball and lifts it brilliantly around the right of the wall before curling inside the post.

After the match ended 4-1, Aston Villa’s chances got shattered. If they could win the match, they would have been in the third position but no fortune.

Ange Postecoglou’s team played a beautiful match with a late comeback. The league drama awaits you, Upcoming next Manchester United vs Chelsea. If Chelsea wins the match, they will come up to the 3rd position. Important match for them indeed.
