Manchester City is going through its first four-game losing run since 2006. Defender Ruben Dias is confident despite acknowledging that many people want to see them fail. City, who are five points behind Liverpool, will try to catch up to Tottenham on November 23.

Key Highlights

  • Man City loses four straight games, for the first time since 2006
  • Dias stays positive: “So many want to take us down… we embrace it.”
  • Next challenge: Tottenham match on November 23

Historic Losing Streak Hit Champions

After suffering their fourth straight loss, Manchester City, one of the best football teams in England, is going through a difficult time. Ruben Dias, their top defender, has talked candidly about the team’s recent setbacks and difficulties.

With Saturday’s setback to Brighton, the reigning champions suffered their fourth consecutive loss in all competitions, something they haven’t experienced since 2006. Of much greater significance, this is the first time Pep Guardiola has lost four straight games as manager.

Dias Shows Fighting Spirit

Speaking to BBC Sport, Dias addressed the situation with candid insight. “It’s normal that times like this come, mostly because so many people want to take us down,” he explained. “We accept it, we embrace it, that’s part of the challenge. That’s why we love it so much. If not for this, our wins wouldn’t be as big as they are.”

The Race Impact

Liverpool presently leads the Premier League by five points as a result of their recent run of defeats against Brighton, Tottenham, Sporting CP, and Bournemouth. Dias is still upbeat about the upcoming season, though.

“Wild Season” Ahead

In a separate interview with Sky Sports, the Portuguese defender emphasized the early nature of the season. “It’s still early days in the season, and there’s much to happen. We all know how the Premier League is; that is why we love it so much, and we know this is going to be a very wild season.”

Recovery Challenge

After winning the Premier League four times in a row, Manchester City now has to work on getting back on track. When they play Tottenham in the Premier League on November 23, they will have another chance to get back to winning ways.

Championship Legacy

Even though City is playing well right now, it would be foolish to write them off thus early in the season given their history as repeat winners. Guardiola’s team has a significant chance to show off their tenacity and championship mindset in the forthcoming game against Tottenham.
